I also want to protect the Daimilus name from the public now when I am getting more and more public. So I have changed my private email as well. Oh!

I didn’t think anyone cared to read my blog anymore! Sorry for not updating! It hasn’t happened that much. I have a pretty boring life to blog about… I wake up, go to work, take care of dogs, go home, train my dogs, go to bed. How interesting could that be to write about? But, apparently I was wrong!

Well some fun stuff has happened. Last Thursday a man ran out of gas outside the shelter. I gave him a ride 200 feet to the gas station. The man asked if I wanted anything, water etc. I was just fine, I don’t want anything for helping out. When we got back to the shelter he asked if I liked Chilli’s, who doesn’t? He said he would come back Friday with a gift card. Yeah, right…Friday came and left, nothing. I was just laughing. But on Tuesday, when I got to work an envelope was on my desk with a “Thank you” on… Yes… A gift card to Chilli’s! A great start of the week! This gift card can also be used at Macaronis grill, a place mom and I wanted to try for a while so we will go there on Sunday!

Had to “save” two dogs from a hot car today. One of the dogs bit me! Not bad, but of course, he didn’t know me, he was exhausted and I got on his territorium. The owner was almost in chock when she came back. The dogs was doing ok, had to cool them down a little and they were returned to their owner. They were not from Texas and didn’t realize how hot it gets. We always learn something…

Well, will be better on updating since at least two people are reading!

Wow!

Last week at this time I was sitting in the sofa crying over how cruel people can be. My email was blown up with notes of what a mean and bad person I am. Today was the total opposite! This was published in The Terrell Tribune today

The picture is actually from February. A great article by Michael Gresham! Well, the same picture of the article was posted on TAAC’s FB page. From there Pawsetively Texas shared it and my life was turned around! Messages, comments, emails, shares, phonecalles etc about what a great job I do. I got so many friend requests (54) from people I don’t know so to be able to remain some kind of privacy I had to make an official page for me! (http://www.facebook.com/ACOCillaWichmann). I was not prepared of that attention, and already now almost 50 people has “liked” the page! What a roller coaster life I have!

But it was quick back to reality when I had to take care of the little lab puppy I brought home for special care over my time off. She is on fluids and hand feeding every second hour. Doing better but still has a long way to go. Will have her with me for a while until she can be alone a whole night!

Shannon is in heat… Tango has figured out what it is all about… September 1st… We are very excited! And yes, I will keep one!

Better

Was sad and alone yesterday. Everything was just hard. But in the same time the support from friends all over the world came in. In the end the tears running down my chins wasn’t only because of everything hard going on but also from how humble I was from all nice words! Anna suggested to save all words, messages and emails to read on my next downturn! And she is right, I should! I am not a bad person or dog owner. I am quite good…
A friend showed up this morning unannounced just to give me a hug. I really appreciated that, and I needed the hug! That kind of actions is just lovely! The fact that I just got out of bed doesn’t matter! Lol!
I also got to read the article about me that will be published on Sunday! Talk about ego boost! Reading that was humbling! I hope it can give the center a good boost too!

It has only been a relaxing day. It has been 103F (39.44C) so indoors is the place to be! Did some laundry and chatting with friends in Sweden. Just nice to be off. Not a call from work, not a meeting, nothing! A great day for recover!

Preliminary Autopsy report

Just got an email with the preliminary Autopsy report of Ebbi. He had a small hole in his heart that we were not aware of. That was probably why he was so sensitive to everything like heat. Thinking back, he was always the dog who sat down and layed down before everyone else. The autopsy  vet said that where the hole was, he was not going to be an old dog at all.  So it feels a little bit better that his primary cause of death was not heat but a birth defect. I will now have Emmi, Co-Co and Daim go thru an extended heart examination again as soon as possible.

Just not happy right now, really not in the mood of blogging.
The Euthanasia class was not fun, but it had to be done! Came home to find Ebeneezer dead and Em N Em overheated even thou they had shade, pool and food. Thanks to nice people at the vet, Em N Em came in care fast, we got him on fluids and cooled down. He had a seizure in the middle of everything but got thru it. Emmi came with me home for observation. Slowly recovered and he is now back as normal. He was sored yesterday but nothing today!
Ebeneezer had always been a weaker dog. He had hard time to keep weight but it was so unfair!
No dogs will be out during daytime the rest of the summer!

Went to Pet Expo yesterday. It was fun. Hoped to see more rescue groups and I hoped that they were a little bit more positive… Our shelter is so full and I don’t know where to turn, what to do or anything! So frustrating!!!

Heading to church and the rest of the day will just be cleaning and laundry…

My day off

Just the feeling of waking up and not have anything to do was wonderful. I didn’t have to be at work at 10 am. The court could have called but they haven’t done so far and I doubt that they will now, it is 2:55pm. Been doing a little bit of blogging to the shelter. Updating some pictures etc. Mom and I went to Walmart and got some groceries and this little squirrel was welcoming us when we came home… It is not often you can take pictures of them, they are usually pretty fast to take off. But he had a nice time.

Will keep track of the weather, we might get some rain later… I can at least hope. Then I will try on some gala dresses. Mom and I are invited to a gala dinner October 13th. Better start thinking about what to wear now otherwise it will be panic. It probably will anyway… I am going to turn in my request to be off that day already tomorrow. It feels like I need that day off if I am not going to fall a sleep in the soup… It will be a lot of fun. It is Collin County Humane Society’s fundraising gala that we are attending. Both mom and I are very excited since we never do anything like that!

The rest of the day is just cooking and nothing. I am going to cook some lunch for tomorrow… I will be able to do it tomorrow morning as well, if my energy pours out. We just ate and being stuffed with food and start cooking is not really fun…

Operation Kindness

We got the opportunity to visit Operation Kindness today. They are a 501c3 (non profit) no kill shelter in Carrolton! It was very inspiring! And they had a Dalmatian as shelter dog! That sold me! They also had a Dalmatian up for adoption! So cute boy – and no, I did not adopt him! But he was very cute! Hope he will get a good home!
Look what was waiting for me coming back to the shelter tonight!

A Keurig coffee brewer! I was so happy! So now I can have my tea at work and the guys can have coffee! So nice to donate one for us!
I am off tomorrow. Supposed to… Well there is if I don’t have to go in for court, but it won’t take long I hope… I will do some computer work, laundry and try to do nothing! Good luck to me!

Explain “off”

Crazy day… I think someone has to explain what it means to be “off work” because I don’t know what it means apparently!
Started the morning with letting the doghouse out. Then off to work to get a dog to the vet to get neutered. Was back home at 9. Sat in front of the computer and…updated the shelter blog (www.terrellpet.com). At 10:30 mom and I headed to Seagoville for a meeting. We passed the pharmacy to get my meds but it was filled with people so I left thinking I would do it on the way back… Never made it…
Mom and I was heading to eat when my phone rang… Work… Code Enforcement needed some help so I headed up where they were. It was done pretty fast. Off to eat. While sitting and eating and checking Facebook, saw a picture posted on there that was missing that we had. Back to the shelter to confirm, take a picture and post. A couple of dogs (5) had come in over day. One was in very bad condition so I had so take it to the vet for evaluation. He decided to euthanize right away… It was very old and the whole body was failing. Poor little dog! Back to the shelter where the owner to the Facebook dog picked up her dog! Love owner returns! Took pictures of the dogs that came in today and went home. Back in front of he computer to update Facebook and the blog… Found a foster for another dog. Finally could leave the computer and go home!
Haven’t done any laundry that I should or cleaned my house… Or any other thing that “normal people” does on their day off…
Tomorrow will be very interesting, we will visit Operation Kindness. Might be home late…
